didn't have much time to look it over since I'm about to run out, but this just looks wrong.

Are you using any custom models for that, or are you just mashing together stock ones?

I'd have to disagree! That particular feature looks dumb only because its made with the stock rock models, but the idea of having that random rock formation is fun.

I have to make some point about the colors though. This shot is almost completely covered with orange/brownish light. I checked the values out with gimp and they looked balanced enough (like I know something about values) but having some variation in the actual color would be beneficial for the looks.

I assume your map is meant to resemble earth and sunset. In that case look at the picture above and notice how the shadows are actually blue. I could write an essay about how the light shatters and falls around and creates that effect, but if you kind of use like a blueish box light, it could make the scene look more interesting.

I like how the fog makes the mountains look like they're further back by making them have higher value.

It would be a great benefit for you to make those rock formations with actual custom models, the rocks have lower resolution when stretched and spamming small ones gives them a bit unnatural look. That's only if you can actually model yourself or find someone willing enough to do it for you (which is damn hard).

Umm... Fog particle is so close to the ground it gliches in it and makes it look like a 2d texture (atleast for me, because I know it is).

Are those holes between some rocks intentional? If not, try not to get lazy and cover them up ^^

Uhm no, it looks dumb because those itty bitty rocks appear to be the only thing holding up a bunch of massive ones?

I'd have to agree with sel on this one, It's angled wrong and looks unatural. If you angled it vertically and bulked out the top and bottom of the pillar it would look like it could support the stuff above it.

I'd say it's not the fact that they seem to be "holding up" anything that looks unnatural. Our sight is blocked by the pillar, so there might very well be something larger holding the construction up behind it. It's just the fact that they appear to be made of a set of single individual rocks, which would never form like that in any way in "real life nature". Even just the shape of it, them taken as an individual entity looks like something which would never form.

I know Damnnohtml only uses amnesia models, but in this instance an "hour glass shaped" rock would be fitting.. Or simply removing the whole part.

To add something to the discussion; The screen looks nice as a whole. :> There's only two things I'm wondering about:
1. The distinctive light and what it radiates from. Sort of a strong boxlight placed on the ground.
2. The colors of the yellow flowers doesn't blend in with the picture. They are probably made to not "take any light" from the surroundings. Either tweak their color more orangeish manually (thus making them work in certain light settings only) or add a spec map.

Hi! Are any of you familiar with the word "mercy"? If you are, please erase it from your dictionary before looking at this screenshots.
This is part of the starting area for a CS i'm making. What would you add to it?

I gotta say those screens look pretty good already. I don't ahve many suggestions for improvement as I cant see the entire map, but remember to add decals on the floor of the bridge. I can see the repeating pattern slightly, which can easily be fixed. Also, always use pointlights in conjuction with your lamp entities. There are areas of very low lighting on the bridge, which could easily be fixed with a couple of dim pointlights. Finally, add some items of interest in some places, maybe a metal chair and a table out on the cliff top, with some books, a lamp and a note. It doesn't have to look in place as long as you give a bit of story to it, give the player an incentive to look under every rock. For me the selling point of a custom story is in it's attention to detail. I like reading all the notes, and looking through all the drawers. Maybe add a few randomly triggered scares.

I'm both very creeped out and very interested as to what that is supposed to be...

Also, thought I'd throw something into this thread as well,
