How did you guys find out about Amnesia and/or Penumbra ?

My sister came home from college and showed me this game on her Mac her best friend showed her. You can actually watch us play it and scream, if you search YouTube for Micalemer. They're kind of old, but I kind of recommend watching Half Grilled Man. Seriously. It was so hilarious I almost peed my pants~

At the moment i'm trying to get a few of my friends to at least try the demo. From what they've seen of it they just think the game is stupid, not scary and that people over react to the things that happen.

Bare in mind, they're all used to all out action FPS's like COD >_>

If they're into games like CoD, don't bother. I know someone like that, and trust me, people like that won't enjoy amnesia. If a game requires even an OUNCE of thinking, it's automatically "gay" and no matter how hard you try to convince them otherwise if they can't run around blasting russian's heads off with a shotgun they won't like it.

I remember when I played on Amnesia while I had one of my friends over. I was using speakers which for a start was a massive atomsphere kill. Within 10 minutes he was like "What the fuck Lucke? This game isn't scary it's fucking boring as shit!" >_>

I had to give up playing because his skeptism was so annoying.

I watched an LP of Amnesia by JohnnyKnodoff and I thought to myself I had to get this game.

It was one of the best game purchase I've made, I even showed it to my bro and he said it was not scary at all and that silent hill was the scariest game ever. He said that no being able to fight back was retarded and running away was wussy mode; you cannot believe how hard I facepalmed that evening.
