RE: Ghost Hunt 19

Really like the sound of this, I haven't played anything which causes fear quitting since Justine - If you can pull this off it will be great!

My only concern is that it is all in one map, I bet it's a lot more immersive, but slower computers (like mine) might struggle too much...

Good Luck! Smile

Due to the layout of the mansion i have to try hard. Even though i have control over the layout, building dozens of rooms seems like an exaggeration. I intend for the layout to try to force ideas (though i already have quite a lot thanks to my other projects).

If it ever becomes necessary that i have to make multiple maps, i wouldn't split it up by floor. Instead, i would make one map for navigating the outdoors and the other for navigating inside the mansion.

The house model isn't complete yet. Also, to maintain performance i'm going to use decals for some of the paint and destruction work. The current image was rendered in Blender.

Really looking forward to seeing the end result of this Computer - sounds like a great idea and would love to finally see what you can pull off. :]

Good luck man!

Some questions... How long would you think it would take to finish this?
Why are you modelling your maps, and not using the level editor?

And, does this have any relevance to ghost hunt in half life 2? Because this has the same sort of ideas?

Even if i were to spend 5 hours a day on it, i would not be able to tell you.

The mansion does not make up the map.

Never heard of that, so no.

That sold me right there. This will be GREAT!

I've come to learn to not fear the living, nor the dead... But the monsters that hide in closets.

Oh, by the way. Once it has come to the point of making the "jump scare animation" - I can do that for you. Unless it's based off a desire to learn Maya.
