I'm confused.. (demo)

I got the demo today, I didn't get too far. I'm stuck in the blizzard, found some thing which you have to break the ice and turn so you can find shelter. I found the rock, broke the ice, turned it, I heard it click (as if it was opening) but it didnt. Nothing I do will open it. I've tried restarting the game, turning it the opposite way, etc. Nothing works.

you have to open it manually; meaning using the hand, grabbing the hatch and moving your mouse to open up the hatch.

Try different angles of turning the wheel, and different angles of opening it.

You have to actually grab the actual hatch. That is, the door itself, after you turned the wheel, and pull it open.

i guess i didn't make myself clear enough. what i was saying was to open the hatch, physically open it like a door; past the turning of the nob; or in this case, valve.

Once you unlock the hatch, slowly open it from THE FRONT with the hand tool. Just move it upward. It should open. And then : Step into the unknown ! ;-)

You know what I just found out, you can take a lot of damage from the cold if youre playing on hard.
