You know, sometimes I wonder if people even bother to read the thread before they post.

@rockbandman Yes, that has been mentioned several times already, the latest 5 posts above.

@Patacorow this is just my opinion, so don't take it to heart, but I severely doubt this is about a sequel. Like I already stated, I think it's probably an expansion.

For me, I posted it twice (the 2nd time so people don't think I'm trying to advertise a different website), and I don't think I ever saw it in this thread otherwise :\

I would enjoy an Amnesia expansion as much as anything. If they're making a whole new game, then it'd be nice to have something to hold us over

Yeah maybe even having axlexandra mentioned sometime in the game or near the end, which leads onto the dark decent.

I'd prefer a new story, some new enemies and maybe having the original ones but looking a bit different. Maybe older or more deformed ha!

It's just an expansion guys, nothing big like a sequel or anything. Because they are making a whole new engine and game, they can't possibly find the time or resources to create a whole new amnesia sequel.

So you are not aware of how well Amnesia The Dark Descent has sold and still sells. To be honest, they have no resource problems to do sequel. Also just because they will use improved engine does not mean they can't find resources to do next Amnesia game with it.

Yes, I am totally aware of how well amnesia sold and how popular it still is today, thank you. First off: making games is costly, very, very costly. And since they are working on a new title as well as a new engine (that's two full time projects), it's pretty safe to say that this can't be a sequel, because the manpower and financial resources that would be needed to work on three full time projects is nowhere near the setup of the Frictional games staff. Even though they are hiring right now, I can't imagine that they would start up three full times project at once, because that would be insane.

I just hope it will be able to satisfy my horror thirst after beating Amnesia TDD 3 times.
