Keep up the great work so that even guys like me, who really like pigs and find nothing frightening or disgusting about them or the noises they make, shit their pants when they play the game! Like you, I have to wonder how can they make something that sounds like a pig frightening?

RE: Monsters of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs

Right now it's a bit early to tell for certain, but we can guess. My guess, seeing that you can travel outside, I would assume something bigger is lurking outside while the Pig Monster is inside... so I think he's a Common Monster. Now what is the big, strong monster I'm not sure, but big enough to roam the streets. They haven't even released a proper trailer yet, and you're already speculating what the number, type and frequency of the enemies will be (when we haven't even seen any enemy yet)? More than a bit premature.
EDIT: I also disagree that the Kaernks are the "annoying special enemy" you make them out to be. In fact, they are the strongest enemy in my opinion. Yes, you can jump on boxes to be safe, but when you are in their domain (the water), you are fucked (like being in the home of Mind Flayers). Running away from the Brutes in game is almost impossible but that's just because of the areas you encounter them in. You can still close doors and hide from normal enemies, and be relatively safe if you act quickly enough. But with Kaernks, if you are in the water they know you're there and there is no escape. Plus, you only really encounter a Kaernk once; the Kaernk in the well and the one that sometimes walks around in the Cistern (but doesn't come after you) don't count. So why aren't those the Strongest Monster, like the Rock Worm that only appears twice? I know it way too early, but I wanted to get this thread up so that, as more information is out a place is ready to discuss it.
I realize that in the water, you can't easily evade detection from the Kaernk like the Rock Work is in the earth. Checking the ATDD maps, the Kaernk was in more places, but those areas were didn't start in the water and had lots of walking room (one large area you had to drain of water, that had two or so Kaernks). Finding a place for the Kaernk was tricky as it is (in terms of detection) similar to the Worm, you have to take its other attributes into account.
In a battle between a Grunt and Kearnk, for example, the Grunt would win every time (assuming a 1-on-1 battle). Grunts have their regeneration to keep them going (Kaernk has none), not to mention the Grunt can deal more damage (Grunt: 30-60, Kaernk: 30-45). If the Kaernk was as common as the Grunt, then he'd be placed in the Common Monsters category. However, seeing that he's not as common nor as tough as a Grunt (even though you can hide from him by means of a box at your head) he's in the Annoying Monster Category... if only just so.

If you watch the clip in slow motion you can see the trotter-hand of the monster coming through the door:

RE: My Own Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Wallpaper
I think if you used the new logo with transparency so that only the text shows, it would be better.

The trailer is great, nevertheless, the TDD scary gameplay trailer was much more better.
But I know, this is jsut a short teaser, shouldn't show too much of the game.
