You HAVE to start selling those. Without "development team" -text, naturally.

(But then, woudn't that feel like playing a character with only one arm? Big Grin)
Sounds good but they could make it easier. Like tap mouse1 to pick up candle or flashlight, tap mouse1 again to turn it off/light it again. Then press mouse2 to put it down. Flashlight's battery would naturally run out quickly(like it probably did in those times), making it useless.
Now on topic: What about a hybrid of both?

I swear I saw this one lantern picture where most of it's light is concentrated forward and the rest spread out. It also looks bit like a modern street light but much older with one light source.
Like this?

Well... not really no.
I was thinking the lantern would be rectangular in shape and it has this oval or circle convex lens on the front.

I want them to reduce the usefulness of the eye-adjustment for the dark/shadowy areas. When you can finish the entire game without ever using a light source because you can see just as well with a blue-tint to everything, it just takes away from the fear.

I also want to see light sources cast much better shadows than they did before. Having moving, jumping shadows as your lantern/torch joggles around from your movement and flickering flames would be so much better for immersion.

Yeah, instead of saying "Development Team", it needs to say "Deranged Lunatic".

I'd buy that.

A lantern of course!
Never heard about flashlights in 19th century!
This would make the game incredible, I prefer the old rusty oil lantern.
I think the game will have a lot of steampunk, but Amnesia is not a game for flashlights.

But that's what happens in real life. Maybe not a blue tint, but if you spend a lot of time in the dark eventually your vision adjusts and you can see. Also, how can you say it takes away the fear? It's not like it becomes bright, it is still difficult to see and it can be very unnerving.

They discussed this in an interview before. They'll make sure the player has multiple ways to produce light and so on. Perhaps igniting hay on sticks and so on.

Flashlight Big Grin Flashlight offers a more narrow but longer in length light source, while a lantern offers a more wider, but shorter inlength light source. I find it more tense when I can't see what's to the sides of me, than whats in front of me. Tongue
