I haven't played Dear Esther, but it looks and sounds incredible.
I'm sure The Chinese Room are more than capable of doing the series justice.
And if it goes well, maybe Frictional Games and The Chinese Room could collaborate again in the future...

I'm not saying it was bad, but I'd advise checking up on reviews before planning to get it. I would recommend waiting for a sale as well.

Some people think that Dear Esther is bloody wonderful, even at the full price of $9.99 (as do I). Smile

I have no doubt whatsoever that thechineseroom will do a fantastic job on A Machine For Pigs - in fact, I think it's going to be better than The Dark Descent ........... Smile

Well, of course it will be. Is based off of the lessons learned from
Amnesia.

Amnesia probably provided the most useful feed back and lesson teaching information
than any of the other games frictional has made. Amnesia the dark descent
was in a lot of ways an experiment as well as a conformation after frictional games discovered some interesting things from penumbra black plague. Every game we see from now on after
the dark descent will be much more in depth due to the financial
stability and the feed back from Amnesia. It clarified a lot of things that hasn't really even been tried before in games. A machine for pigs would not be possible to create without this
information, because TheChineseRoom is using this information provided by Frictional as well as the feed back from Esther to understand and get a better idea on how to create an ARG game. Some of these guidelines are coming directly from frictional games themselves. So this next game is going to be a huge step forward in ever regard. Everything coming from both frictional games and TCR from this point on is going to be much much deeper than what we have seen before.

Most of the active members here are not fans of PewDiePie.

And they really hate the memes he's made.
