yeah, the bomb thing is sort of disappointing, but who knows, maybe it's not as bad as you think. I agree, I don't think the bomb part works, but who knows. we already have dynamite.
Yes, we had dynamite, but these bombs is more....They look to mordern to be in a place like this. Or are Philip somewhere else on the screen?

Having a bomb trap in the game doesn't really bother me, but that laser grid doesn't look very good to me. In real life, laser beams are not visible unless they travel through dust or smoke. And even then they are not perfectly shaped bright beams like shown in the screenshot.

Actually the screens look quite a lot like I had thought the Shelter to be. The technology and human experiment stuff. Just cool. Then again that bomb stuff and being a "prisoner" felt almost too classic. Though, Penumbra has a lot of potential in the storyline so I'm sure BP will be an amazing experience.

when you think of it, is any game perfect? I'm not really defending BP, but we still don't know what the gameplay will be like. Yeah, that screenshot of that big blur, I don't, but who knows. Reminds me of F.E.A.R., an okay game, but in my opinion, nothing like Penumbra.
Like I said though, no game is perfect. Never will be, because we all have our own opinions. To me, Call of Duty was/still sort of is, one of my top favorite types of game. Perfect? No. Descent 3 online is a great game; perfect? Nope. But, still fun? Yes.
As long as Penumbra stays clear of F.E.A.R., Doom 3, and those other types of games, I think we have another winner on our hands.
Those games are alright, but Penumbra is different; and that's part of the reason it's fun. and it's morbid, swedish adds a little touch to it as well.

So far I am very happy with the game, it is definately unique to any other game i have played, much more enjoyable than the mundane first person shooters, always would rather use my head than a trigger. From what I have seen so far, the team has done an excellent job of staying within the theme of Penumbra they have set, and I'm sure this next game will be every bit as entertaining and musing... rather than amusing.
Just keep doing what you are doing! We are here because we like it!

If anyone's wondering; jen's post was made at 1:38 PM in GMT
But jens, will this event be like a forum "ATTN: Frictional" and ask questions; some style of ICR? What exactly?

Heh, made a topic there. And I gotta say; after looking through all the other (currently) submitted games, Frictional Games seems the most organized, has the best engine, and actually has pictures in the post. Well done!

Even though it's a day late; I encourage anyone to join the small party and ask questions; they answer all of them very nicely. Check out the topic I made !
