He simply stated that he is interested in it.
I'll surely check this out! Looks like it could be lots of fun. You're joking right?

His tone also implies he thinks there's something very wrong with my opinion
I'm definitely going to check this game out, but the trailer itself doesn't present the game that well I feel is all

I don't like the way it's interacting with objects, way too much like Penumbra.

He does mention irony, but what his tone implies is completely subjective. For instance, to me it does not imply that your opinion is wrong, but that he feels you are calling the game off do to the trailer (which as you state above is not correct).
But yes, though the fact outside in daylight shots exist create a different feel, I could see the game playing very much the same.
*Random Sound* .... "What was that!?" .... *See's nothing is happening* ... "Phew!" ... *take's 5 steps* ... *door explodes randomly* ... "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

I am very curious, and my curiosity only grows!

The folklore can't be the only source they're using - it's far too like amnesia -even in the lighting style- to not be inspired at least in part by it. I read a while back about it on steam's Rock, Paper, Shotgun. They of course compared it to amnesia, so that's where I'll always assume they took influence. Biased but oh well.

Cheers, nothing from developers about it being inspired by amnesia, but at least I'm not alone in my opinion. Good read Yea my bad, I intended "they" to mean the writers of the article, not developers
