Yeah, I know I'm a bit more than two behind now. I was only two behind when I got this GPU. I tend only to upgrade them when I absolutely need to right now due to budget constraints.
For now this will run everything I need it to on High/relatively high settings. I tend to only pick up a few games per year, and haven't picked up anything more demanding than DX:HR in the last year.

I'm sure that the new cards are great and all, but when was the last time when you heard a games critic complain about the graphics? Past DirectX 10, graphics has stopped mattering.

well it matters abit, the old generation can cause problems like.
Graphical glitches.
Random fps drowning down.
Low chance of new updates.
Random crashes ECT.
Well im going for the Evga Geforce gtx670 superclocked.
But still it should be possible without problems Jet...

RE: GeForce GTX-Series Product Family

Well if someone plays small games and just watch youtube videos there is no difference between a 9800GT and a GTX 680.

I had a 8800GT(<=9800GT) (overclocked at 700MHz --> still remember thatTongue) and then I got a GTX 460 which I currently have and it is manually overclocked (680MHz to 860MHz). In a month or so I will get a new one. I'm between a GTX 680 and a GTX 670 which are pretty much the same. We'll see...

The 670 comes with a base clock of 915 and with TurboBoost 980. Also it has 192 less CUDA cores. These are the only differences.

RE: GeForce GTX-Series Product Family

yes I know. I am talking about stock speeds. After that it is relatively easy to reach very high overclocking with such cards.
