RE: Linux

This seems to be for the Linux beta 5 only, I tested on linux, mac and windows and it only happens in linux. So hopefully the error is corrected before final release!

RE: Linux

Oh, to download and test the demo or be patient and wait for the full game?

Btw, is there a post somewhere on the actual purchase statistics for the target platforms? It'd be interesting to see what the gamers prefer. It would also be interesting to know how many bought the Windows version because the Linux and Mac were not available when the Windows release was. Maybe Linux is still too esoteric? Looking at various forums and reviews, it seems that all Linux gamers who bought Overture are now eagerly waiting for Black Plague, i.e really good reviews from a inherently skeptical community. Must feel nice.

RE: Linux

One here. I bought Overture (Linux) and eager to download Black Plague for Linux. I own them on Windows as well; partially because I was just dying to play the game.

...the game developer Paradox Interactive and the 2-man Swedish developer team, Frictional Games, have released Linux and Mac versions of its popular game Penumbra: Black Plague. As of this writing, a demo version is available; a full version will be ready the week of April 29th...

Waitin' on the Linux version,

RE: Linux

I have an idea:
Release it today!

Let me think..

I have a better idea:
Release it now!

Otherwise I am forced to continue what I'm already doing:
Busy waiting

But i'm warning you! Currently I'm stuck in the middle of the game, because the windows version crashes with wine. Should I find out that a newer version of wine works better, then there is the possibility that I finish the game before you release it. My motivation to buy BP again could go down slightly after I finished the game Big Grin

(Just joking - It's no fun if you fear crashes more than what you should fear - and only a supported configuration and/or an intensively tested configuration can assure that it runs stable)

RE: Linux

You should have waited for the Linux version, now you've upped the Windows sales and lowered the incentive for a Linux port by one sale. Smile It's better they fix all known issues before release. Good to know they have some quality assurance for the Linux port.
