Schmup.exe?

I'll spoiler as much as I can. It concerns the interior of the research lab so, really, don't read ahead if you're not that far.

In the research lab, after killing the female doctor (her name escapes me) the computer, in doctor Swanson's(sp?) room, with the antidote document has a file titled Schmup.exe and is protected by a password. Is this some sort of easter egg or did I miss something in-game?

speaking of easter eggs, there's one of those statues in the corner of the trashed bathroom there. I only have 3 so far. anyone know what they're for?

There's 10 in total, i got 7/10 playing through again to see if i can get all 10...and hopefully find the schmup password and the super_secret password

I was also thinking that the statues might help
suc has giving us the password for schmup and then schmup will give us the super secret password

Well, something interesting I've discovered about the collectable statues (looking over some of the in-game notes).

They are referred to, in one of the internal Archaic notes, as 'Finis Specialis'. Transliterated it would be 'special end'. So I think this gives credence to they somehow being tied into the ending of the game.

6 hours, 33 minutes, 47 seconds.

20/20 notes.

10/10 collectables.

I *did* get a password at the end that let me run the Schmup.exe program. On a side note, I did not see any way to continue on from where I was so I just loaded up a previous save file and went to the computer.

Of course, besides being a little confused at the ending (I realize what it's trying to do, I'm just hoping I misses something and there's more...but I doubt it,) I'm a little underwhelmed with the program.

Granted, I didn't run it for long so maybe something big/useful happens later.

The end text did seem to imply there would be numerous (well, at least plural) extra(s) for everything - what else am I missing?

Edit: Same code works on the supersecret.exe, too. That one is a lot cooler.

With regards to the artifacts, I only recall a handful of them. It wasn't a main focus of mine, but I did pick them up over time from searching everywhere.

For the ones I can recall:

* One was in a garbage can that was covered with a lid. I *want* to say this garbage can was in the room along the right wall of the hallway/passage that took you to the kennel door.

* In the infirmary/cryogenic area (the place where you pick up the medical watch and frozen head,) look at the air ducts above the doorway from where you came in. One is in the top-left corner.

* In the room with the compound 65 (?) - the one where the monster is pounding on the door and you have to use the mechanical arm. There is a desk to the right of the door and there should be one in the bottom drawer.

* From the last area of the demo - just past the area with the fiery barrel and fire alarm sprinklers - one up in the cabinets.

* In the library, up above. NOT the side with the clock, but above the door you eventually open up and go out through. It's hard to see from the ground, but jump up a bit. You should be able to see it from atop either of the two desks or, as I did, atop the book shelves.

* In the keycard room (where you accidentally kill the friendly scientist.) In the wrecked bathroom, in the far right corner, there is one on the ground amongst the rubble.

Well, that's six of them at least. For the life of me, I cannot recall where the other four are, but they are all generall in something (cabinet, drawer, etc.) or hidden in a high or low area. Perhaps the rest of that are in the earlier parts of the game can post where the other four are.
