That would add a whole new layer of immersion and fear. You would have to actually, physically run from the monsters. That's so very different from just clicking the W button. Imagine running for your life, looking over your shoulder with the headtracking and seeing the monster gain on you. You would probably end up with PTSD.

Just registered for an account on here so I could add my support to the cause... I'd love support to be implemented! I've got a Rift on order (should ship next month), and early this morning saw that Amnesia was on sale on Steam, so went ahead and picked it up in hopes that someone (either Frictional Games or a modder) would add support before my Rift arrives. I have high hopes that somebody will get the Oculus Rift working with it in the near future, so don't intend to touch it until I can do so whilst sporting my Rift
I would suggest to everyone to look at the earlier comments from when this thread was created. Observe all those who doubted that the Rift would become known and popularized. Looking at those comments, I wish those who doubted before to see and believe now.

The consumer version is not available yet, so the price is unknown. Though they have planned on making it available for the general public with a reasonable price.
The amount of attention the Rift is receiving from developers and companies is overwhelming, so the price will have to be reasonable.

Like J.R.S.Storch said, nobody knows how much the Consumer Version will cost. It will vary based on the cost of the available parts.
Now, if you're wanting to know about the developer kit, it's $300. However, it's a developer's kit... It's not a complete product yet. There is definitely room for improvement before they release the consumer version.
