Personally, I think that the Lovecraftian style is becoming cliche and repetitive. Amnesia did it well, but I'm not sure how it would be able to keep up. Anything that gets perpetuated for a while will get very old.

monsters in general dont really scare me. ive grown acustomed to seeing monsters like those in FPS'es, and so on. the only thing that really terrifies me is someone/something looking so freaky and so deformed that it sends chills down your spine, to even think about how it got its form. thats my feedback on this, atleast

From the video it still uses Amnesia 1 textures in addition to the new. I'm glad to see actual outdoors/city textures. A good change of pace from indoors only. It's unknown how much Lovecraft theme will be in (in fact, much of the game is unknown to us).

I've seen quite some games with that kind of style. For first time, it is good, but not so much later on.

The problem I have with Lovecraftian monsters is that many of them are too inhuman to be scary.
Oblivion's zombies were one of the scariest things for me at the time, heh. ^^

Which is why Amnesia's monsters are deliberately made to be human like

That's right, and they're friggin' terrifying.

Until the whole cute and/or sexy grunt thing kicks in.
