Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months ago Bug  [HELP]Black screen at the amnesia (hpl2) Level Editor

Hello! Today i decided to download the amnesia level editor. So i downloaded it. When i opened it with winrar, it gave me an error saying "unexpected end of archive". I repaired the zip, and tried extracting everything into the redist folder. Everything made it BUT the materialeditor.pdb. Winrar said the file was currupt. So i let it go and i tried running the Levelcreator. But all i got was a black screen. I tried to quit it but it wouldn't work. So i Alt F4'd out of it. nothing. So i closed it with task manager and that worked. I tried running the other files such as map view and hpllangtool and they ran fine. BUT the material editor didnt work. it gave me the same black screen. (i wasn't expecting that it would work because i was missing the pdb file)

Help?

If the problem is because i am missing the file, can someone please give me a WORKING version of the zip file?

Thanks!

Im using an Alienware m14x, windows 7 64 bit.

Have you tried re-downloading the editor suite? Perhaps with a different browser and extracting the archive perhaps with a different archive program?

Your system appears to have two graphic cards on it. It is possible that the level editor is using the weaker one. See if there is a control panel on your system (e.g. one provided by Nvidia) that lets you force the level editor to use your Nvidia graphics card.

Has to be something in your PC. I don't have the materialeditor.pdb file, and the material editor works perfectly fine.

Try disabling the "Aero" theme on Win 7. You can do it in the "personalize" setting. When you right click the desktop. Just select a "basic" theme. Not "Aero".

Infrequently active. Don't expect an immediate response. Best to contact me at a different locale. If I create a thread, expect me to be quite active.

Try disabling that too.

If even that doesn't help, I have no idea. Try to use the stronger GPU (try forcing it through BIOS, maybe?).
