I need a little help

I know I'm probably going to get Yelled at for this, but I've been to the troubleshooting thread and realize how technically inept I am. I was playing Amnesia last night and everything was going fine and dandy. Today When I tried to play, all I could see was black besides the menu. I know it is talked over a bunch, but I REALLY need someone to explain this to me in stupid and walk me through the steps. Whats the first thing I need to do?

If this is a laptop chances at that you were playing with the power plugged in and the second time on the battery? If that is the case plugin the power to make sure that the dedicated graphics card is used and not the integrated graphics card (which is much lower performance and often not capable of running Amnesia).
