Where the hell is there even that much oxygen in one place anyways?

I was saying that IF that would be true...

We were designed to inhale 21% oxygen.

Because, it feeds flames. When we inhale Oxygen, we exhale Carbon Dioxide. Certain processes take place in the body during that period. If the oxygen's concentration would be higher, we'd ignite from the inside!

Of course, if its concentration is also lower, we might suffocate.

This is one of those "you can't live without it, but can't continue living with it" cases.
What? That doesn't mean oxygen is flammable. Fire needs oxygen but oxygen doesn't spontaneously combust at any temperature (no matter the concentration). What's your source?

Something more concrete than that perhaps? I'd love to believe you but I trust common sense more than hearsay.

EDIT: A quick search on Google pointed me to several sources that say oxygen is 0% flammable. Couldn't find anything on the oxygen concentration in the lungs though.

Maybe try this?

Cigarette ignites oxygen, killing man.

And I ain't got any more sources.

Is interior body heat enough to ignite extreme concentrations of oxygen? I'm guessing no, but I don't know anything for sure.

My physics teacher said that higher concentrations of oxygen would ignite us from inside. They'd need to be really high, though.

Nothing more solid than that.

Who knows what could have been in the air. If he used a lighter for example, a gas leak could have filled the air with butane vapor which could definitely have caused an explosion.
