YouTube disabled my Amnesia videos for monetisation?

Hi all,
I uploaded some videos to YouTube a few months ago and did some searching on the Frictional Games site about commercial usage rights.. the best I found was a thread here saying that Frictional Games would have no problem with me enabling my play-throughs for monetisation, as long as I didn't claim the game as my own. (http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thr...cial+usage)

Recently YouTube has disabled 2/4 (and I've voluntarily done the last two) of my videos for monetisation and says I need to provide written proof of commercial usage rights. I'm pretty sure they won't accept the forum post as proof, so I wondered if anyone here had a link to the terms of use for Amnesia: The Dark Descent (where it says I can put adverts on my videos), or even had an email address of someone from Frictional Games I could speak to regarding this.

( Moderator Edit ) No youtube advertisement on the forums )
Thanks everyone.

Sounds like a load of nonsense from YouTube, especially when you consider the enormous amount of game videos on there for not just Amnesia but also a huge amount of others.

Raise these issues with YouTube and politely tell them where to go.

Either that or upload your vids to Vimeo. Smile

Hey Oink, thanks for your reply!

I'm afraid the only options when YouTube flags you video like this is to either prove you have commercial usage rights or prove that you don't need them. Seeing as I can't do either, I'm stuck with my videos being disabled for monetisation Sad

It's a big shame because I'm sure, as the other forum post said, that Frictional Games wouldn't have a problem with it.. but there is actually no way to contact them and prove to YouTube that this is the case :/

To be honest I'm quite angry with YouTube as I've spent time playing through something, recording it editing it, and uploading it yet they flag it up and stop me earning literally a few pennies for the effort.

Thanks for you reply though, it's much appreciated!

I just can't understand why YouTube would object - are they not aware of the vast number of gameplay videos on their site?

I'd try Vimeo if I were you!

See heres the issue with youtube. Even if you where to show proof that you are allowed to post up the video (with written rights by the company) youtube can still deny your video for Monetization. I have had the same issue with youtube in the past with such games as Terraria and MineCraft which you can easily find Both company's giving full permission to upload you playing there games even if you are partnered with youtube.

The reason why you get denied may not be because the company said (no we don't want that) but because when it comes down to it. Youtube has control over what they want you to get paid for and what they don't want you to get paid for. If they feel you shouldn't get paid for the video. Then they deny it. It's screwed up as hell but you learn to deal with it.

I've had at least 8 or 9 of my videos be denied and a good portion of them where MineCraft and Terraria which I had even sent Youtube the rights that both Re-Logic and Mojang give for you to do so and they still denied it.

Agree, but replace "mermaid" with "Alexaniel."
