Plane keeps disappearing?

In order to create my custom painting (with my own picture) I use a texture (my picture) which I put infront of the painting. It works in game etc but every time I restart the level editor it disappears, the plane is still there but it doesn't have any source file so I have to link it again. Anyone know why?

Be sure the .mat file is in a folder in redist, not in your custom_stories folder-the level editor doesn't find them if they are there.
