i can't make a profile on amnesia: the dark descent!

Here are some steps to help you out

1) Right-click on the game in your Steam library
2) Click on "Properties"
3) A window should open up with some tabs. Click on the "Local Files" tab
4) Now click "Verify Integrity of game cache"

That will make Steam scan the game files and re-download any corrupt files.
