amnesia will not work at all passed the new or load game menu

So i recently bought amnesia from steam. I have played this game on my other computer so i wanted it on my laptop. Right now i have the asus with the core i5. When i open the game it loads and everything but as soon as i create a new account, load, or continue a game, the game just goes black and i can not see a thing. I can see the little dot that is in the middle and i can hear the talking and music. I heard that this game doesn't support core i5's but is there any verifications for that? Please i need help and i really really want to play this game. It is very enjoyable.
