Oh gawd this escalated quickly.

If this is ever going to be a leveled playing field, we're all gonna have to put up with what 12-year old mouthbreathers say over the internet (or xbox live chat). You don't have to listen to the chat, you can play with your own friends. If you do hear something that insults you, sticky/headshot that SOB and move on. If we have to threaten to instaban someone every time they something that could be "offensive", there would be no one left to play with.

There is no way someone can assault or physically harm you through the TV. If someone says something vulgar that scares you, take solace in that fact. Rape/death/violence threats via xbox are ridiculous and should be treated as such. If you let what they say take such a toll on your mind, then don't put yourself in a situation where it's possible then blame everyone else when you get mad.

The thing about "reverse sexism" is nothing but pure bullshit. Why?

Mostly because it doesn't exist.

Throughout the world, women are beaten, harassed, threatened, raped and killed everyday, and in more than half the cases the perpetrators doesn't get any form of punishment.

Ranging from brutal murders due to "honor culture" to the objectifying of women through western pornography industry, women get treated like less worthy humans.

And nobody hardly does anything.

There's an analogy here I'd like to bring up, and that's the current attitude towards overweight girls. Faced by a media so heavily pedaling a thinner figure, many larger girls and self-appointed social justice defenders have begun to proclaim that fatter is more beautiful. They end up shaming skinny girls at the same time. Is that equality? Hardly. It just reverses the victim group.

If I'm going to be treated equally as a woman, I wouldn't want to tread on men to do so. That attitude achieves nothing :T

Also, literally everyone that's not a straight white male is made fun of online, so this whole idea of it being different for women is stupid. And with that said, I don't see anyone making some big point of trying to get rid of homophobia, racism, ageism, or really any other form of discrimination online or in game, and you hear a fraction of the "I'm offended" complaints over those issues even though in a lot of those cases the discrimination is way worse. Yeah, it'd be nice if we could all just get along, but there will always be shit heads online and everyone needs to learn to accept that if they want to use the internet without crying every 30 minutes because someone said something hurtful to them.

This prompts me to use a metaphor I like quite a bit. Say the balance of the two sexes (Or any rights for that matter) are like a balance-beam. When one side starts getting too heavy weight will be applied to the other side to balance it out. Sometimes it's overdone, and the beam starts tilting too much in the other direction instead.

Let me clarify my views. First at all, I don't have anything against female gamers. But SOME girls play games in order to get attention from other gamers. Whoring attention in game just because you are girl is the most retarded and silliest thing ever. They should think twice before naming profile or character like "gamergurl69" or "CoDGirl".

And what about little kids who call you a fag and sleep with your mother? Sure they are idiots. But if you get offended and start yelling back, you're at their level. Or you suffer of some mental illness.
