Yes, but only use eights and no other number. Perhaps I didn't make it clear enough.

Your puzzle sucks. It's just guesswork and it's boring.

Oh yeah I got it.

(8 + √√(8 + 8))^√(8 + 8/8)

No it's not guesswork.

Correct!

RE: Riddles, brain puzzles and mathematical problems

I tried to look for the most plausible factors that can multiply up to 1000, eventually narrowing it down to 10^3 and 8 * 125. However you can't string together five 8's to get 125, while it's possible to make a 10 and a 3 using three 8's each.

Next puzzle coming up in a few hours

No it's not guesswork.
It's just not a fun puzzle. It's like asking someone to construct a C major scale using only sharpened or flattened microtones. It just takes a long time to figure out and it is not enjoyable at all. When would you ever come across a number and need to know how to notate it using obscure use of symbols and using only one number?

I rather enjoyed trying to have a go at it - I didn't post as I failed miserably, but I thought it fun. Not everyone has the same definition of fun.
I guess not.

For me everything that makes you think is a lot of fun. So I pretty enjoyed it, but I guess that's a subjective view.
