Blizzard scene totally unplayable, help please!

Ok so, I start the game, the ship scene works just fine, but then when I get to the blizzard scene, all I see is gray. Nope, it doesn't look like a snowstorm , I don't suppose it's meant to look like this. I can see the texts just fine, but can't interact with anything cause I can't see !

I tried turning all kinds of settings off/on, but no help, it just stays gray. I'm running Vista, if it makes a difference. Ati Radeon xpress 1200 and 2gb RAM.

Can anyone help me with this one?

Try using latest patch:

Also try updating graphic card drivers.
