Watching Higurashi currently, since everyone seem to be talking about it, I shit my pants in the first episode already, though nothing happened, can't deal with the tension, and unpredictability.
Therefore my progression pace is rather slow.

Anime stands for animation produced in japan or animation in japan.They even call Spongebob as anime there.

Actually I believe it's regarded that animation, even if it's of the style, is only anime if it's produced in Japan, that's why people are so iffy about whether or not shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender are anime. Since Spongebob is very American, I doubt they'd call it anime there since the genre has grown so much.

I deduced it by what the people say there, anime literally means animation in japanese, therefore Spongebob is anime in japan.
