i cant get any of penumbras to work.

Yea we already know that. Since you already have the latest patch, just load the game from an earlier save. So at the Penumbra Black Plague main menu. Click on 'Load Game' instead of 'Continue' and select from a slightly earlier save point before the chemical labs.

That will solve your problem as long as you follow those instructions
