Justine : How to Save The Priest

I finished Justine a long time ago. So this is just a question thread. At the mansion where I must save the priest guy, I don't understand how to save him after I got the slides. I was lucky that I put the slides in the right hole thingy. How do I understand the puzzle ?

You put Slide #4 and pull the lever. Now release Slide #4 and input Slide 3 and pull the lever again.

This has been answered already try the search option next time.
Difficult puzzle though We are always right today I was the one with the sword there are no right anwsers etc I fucked it up many times.
But the clue is that you are always right as in on the right side as I recal one was a saint and one was a man standing chest forward to the right side. (slide 4 and 3)
