Egyptian walls + other work

Hey everybody. After a long break from modelling I decided to try it again. Through trial and error and a few scrapped models I actually managed to create a couple of decent wall models so here they are:

For the first time ever I also included nrm and spec maps in my models. Still a little rough around the edges though due to low poly count. The normal maps don't seem to do miracles even though they make it look a lot better.

Making those was a kind of a practice to myself so they have some little flaws. That's why I don't think I'll upload them - but if for some reason somebody wants them really badly I guess I could make them available for download.
They have the same dimensions as other Amnesia walls so they appear seamless and grid snapping also works fine in the editor.

What is the polycount?

Talking about normals, did you high poly bake them or generate them from a texture? Because normals generated from textures rarely do miracles as you've mentioned, a high poly bake should fix things up nicely!

I did both. Hi poly for the smooth curves and other details from texture

RE: Egyptian walls

Here's something new I'm working on:

This is merely a demo version to see how they would work in game. They will be remodeled and retextured later on.

The main idea behind these was that they could be used along with scripting
that allows enemies to open doors. Probably something like adding force to a door when enemies collide with an area in front of it could work. So if you have the option to bar the door you would be inclined to use that option.

Oh, and don't mind the bad cropping and lack of sound in the video. Haven't found decent video capturing/editing tools that work on linux yet.

I thought I'd remake one of my oldest models. Here's a safe, slightly improved from the last version.
