Maya crashes when exporting things with OpenCOLLADA
Hello, Im curently having 5 days left for my trial with maya and I thought I might do what I can before the time is over. When I try using OpenCOLLADA exporter maya crashes. It happens everytime I try to use OpenCOLLADA exporter. When I use DAE_FBX it doesnt happen then I get other errors like null not supported etc... I tried loading an entity from the game and export it without editing it too see if it crashes and it does. Why does it crash? could I have failed to install it? Any1 help me with this?

It isn't DAE_FBX, you must go to plug-ins and activate the other Collada exporter. Then, use that one.

I dont think you get the point here, If I use OpenCOLLADA exporter maya crashes so I cant use it.
I need to know why it crashes when I use OpenCOLLADA exporter and how to fix it.

That's exactly what I mean. The normal Collada doesn't work, you must use another one, which is found in plug-ins.

Im using Maya 2013 and opencollada hmmm. I dunno really. I tried uninstalling it but my maya still shows up opencollada exporter. Anywyaz All I know is that using DAE_FBX works but the texture is missing etc... My handheld minigunfiring cobra looks like a table lol. I think material is left out or sumthing when using DAE_FBX. <-- All I know is that its fucked or something. Using normal OpenCollada exporter crashes maya so theres no point in using it. Can I fix it?

What are you taling about? DAE_FBX is the only thing that doesnt crash when I use it. OpenCOLLADA exporter crashes.

Oh, you mustn't use Maya 2013, only 2011 and older. Download Maya 2011 and look for results

This is not true, maya 2011 or older is only required if you want to export animations.
Dae_FBX works fine.
The reason why your model has no texture is because you need to use materialeditor.exe to create a material for the model, set up your folder structure for the custom object and place your .dds textures in there, now in maya asign the .dds texture which is located within the amnesia directory to your model, this will make sure that maya exports the file with the correct texture path.
Next load up the materialeditor.exe and create a material, this is fairly simple.
Now save your new material out to the same folder as the diffuse texture and give it the exact same name. ( Only with the extention .mat instead of .dds )
SUCCESS! Your model should now be visible.

Ok If I want to use material from dds file wich is not from amnesia do I place those custom dds files in amnesia folder somewhere? The point is everytihng is custom material etc... In maya the models texture loads just fine. And. In maya how do I specify the material dds files? Any1 know how to do this?
