I Was going over the second ARG Poems and i think it involves an Unfinished ritual to bring Two or One Dead Kid back to life.
Look at it again.

"Thus ever when we stumble by

Wet grasses on the knee bent low

And lift our children to the skies

And love for them, and conquer death

With candlelights and tables tipped

A footfall in the darkened halls

I Think Mr Mandus had a previous kid (Or Twins), One of them could be this Aforementioned Lily. Now i think these two kids/or Lily, died in Mexico and he came back Depressed, Completely Broken. I Think he could have had a plan to bring Them/or Lily back to life and The Machine was a way to bring them back. By using pigs he began to Experiment then... his experiments became darker, grotesque. He began kidnapping the people of London and Feeding them and Pigs to The Machine. Soon the smell of bodies and dead pigs began to seep into the street, Citizens planed to Boycott Mandus Productions.

Its just what i think might happen. If this is part of the game, I will shut up.

I think "Machine For Pigs" is just figuratively name.
I belive Oswald's children died in Mexico, and that's why the expedition ended by tragedy. Then Mandus, who came back to home was depressed, which made him mental illness. During his experiments, which ended by failure he discovered something like vitae in TDD. He became heartless murder. He bulit something like a altar/temple/etc ("Machine For Pigs") and started to kill people. During gaining energy, something wrong happend and the ghosts/something else of people which were killed by him took Oswald into a otherworld ("The Machine").
The ghosts couldn't get their human bodies, so they got pigs corpses from Mandus factories. He woke up in his conscious nightmare with no memories of his past. During his dangerous journey, he is getting flashbacks, taking him to world looking like our world.

That's only mine vision, nothing special.
