SDL_Warpmouse crash on start

I double click the icon, I get the crash report instantly, with an EAV on SDL_Warpmouse.
I tried deactivating both my mice (laptop) but wouldn't start anyway.
What gives?

Well, apparently if I set it with Windows 98 compatibility mode, with disabled visual themes and advanced text services, it works.
It then hangs on exit, though.
