Zomg skrillex is the best music maker who ever lived. No one can beat him. He's the new justin bieber, just as talented. Beethoven sucks dick just like michael jackson.
I was thinking about starting an acting career. What do you think?

So this is the worst rendition of Chopin's famous impromptu op. 66 I've ever listened to. But it seems to be really popular for some reason. I think this pianist was also hired to play the impromptu in this piano documentary.
I've never heard a more rushed playing in my life. It's as if "rubato" and "cantabile" were completely thrown out the window in favour of flashy speed and technique.
Am I the only one outraged at Lin's popularity despite her complete lack of musicianship?
When people ask me "Whats your favorite kind of music?", I usually can't think of another kinds of music in an instant except the ones that comes from video games.

<obnoxious performance here>

I'm not Bridge (hi :D), but I agree with you. Actually, I stopped the recording about 30 seconds in... that first bit of a rit she does made me almost sea-sick. It's not necessarily way too much, just really forced sounding (probably because it's not in her style naturally)... and her style really, really doesn't suit the piece. Although this kind of made me want to go and learn this piece just so I can feel better about my skills and more justified in criticizing hers. So thanks for that, I guess.
And, since we're posting youtube videos of Chopin's music, here's my preferred interpretation of the piece
On the topic of Horowitz, his piano was at the Steinway store in my city recently; that made me super-duper excited. The bottom of it is covered in signatures. It's really really neat!
And on the topic of favourite styles of music... I usually get really stumped and just say I'm open to anything but usually classical, ambient, and soundtrack music. No, Kman, I don't have a favourite pornogrind band; sorry :p
Also, darn I need to stop thinking of things. Anyways, also: anyone want to confirm that it's normal to not delve into the history of the artists/composers of a piece (or even know their names sometimes) despite enjoying their music (or is that just me)? Personally, I always freeze up whenever someone starts talking about their favourite band member or "celebrity" gossip because I don't really pay attention to it myself.
