Custom Monster crashes modelview.exe?

I've recently created a custom monster in Maya with bones and every time I try to open the exported .dae file I get errors. I beilive the problem is the texture due to the model being composed of a bunch of the same smaller model I made a while ago. Do I need to combine the texture(s) in some way that the modelview.exe can piece it together correctly or is it likely some other error?

No, you don't. It's possible it's a problem with either the Bone or the export.

I have the fbxmaya plugin for maya 2014, do I need the openCOLLADA program for it to work?

ok I think I found my problem, I imported and exported a model from amnesia into maya and the modelviewer crashed. I'll just downgrade my maya version
