All information points towards it being "DRM agnostic" which means the games either have DRM or don't, depending on the publisher. But the software itself is just a downloader and patcher, with a choice of having the client install the games or providing you with a installer (CD keys seem to be the most extreme DRM you can come across - not sure about that though). The games appear to be 100% runnable without Desura.
