RE: Amnesia AMFP SPOILER THREAD *ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK*
GamesTM magazine issue 138 has a write-up about The Chinese Room which includes at least two new screenshots and parts of previously-unseen concept art. The write-up itself doesn't contain anything we don't already know, but the images are interesting. Worth a look.

Thanks for the tip. The one concept art looks like it could be the body of the giant monster.
Where do you see two new screenshots? I just see the one with the cage and the green lamp.
RE: Amnesia AMFP SPOILER THREAD *ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK*
Spoiler below!
As you can see, there's a four-poster bed in that cage. Why caged? Perhaps to keep sick Mandus off other people. If I'm right, that's probably the very first area in AMFP we visit.

There's a screenshot in the main title page of the article, it's somewhat obscured by text and is a little dark, but you can see it if you squint your eyes haha. It looks like it's taken in the same room as the second one, just from a different angle.

I haven't even seen the picture, so I'm guessing just by your description. Maybe Oswald has been "brought" to "the machine" like an animal. Does the cage look similar to the other (presumably) animal transportation cages in the video?

It looks quite clean and only the openings are caged; the "door" is on its left side and it's open. The bed is placed in a high-end bedroom. It's certainly dissimilar to the animal transportation cages we've seen on that video.

Thanks Vertical!
Now I'll unleash my complete tinfoil-hat theory. I have to test if I got even a fraction of it right.
Spoiler below!
Spoiler-warning inside spoiler-tags. If you - the reader - honestly believe, that my ramblings can affect your enjoyment, please don't read further.
What happened in Mexico, is the last "real" thing, and now Oswald is dead (or moved to another plane of existence, the machine). He and his hunting crew (including Lily) were used as human sacrifices (poem where old Lily is slaughtered, mors praematura). As Oswald didn't care for animals or poor peoples lives, now he must pay for it. Maybe 'the machine' is on the other side of the portal (Amnesia TDD) or some kind of another underworld.
Now the roles are reversed: the animals are gods (ie Leda and the Swan, altar glass painting, the painting where the dog [god] protects the child [Oswald's victim]). Indeed, the machine is for "pigs" (metaphorically) but pigs and other animal gods run the place now. Before he was the one calling shots and now he is just a mere animal waiting to be slaughtered.
The cover art symbolises the portal between two worlds. From above there is coming light and rain from the jungle. The floor is 'the machine' where he is now. The pig idol is the medium between these two places. The idol he has been sacrificed to (blood).
The children? Don't really know. They might not even be real, perhaps it's just "guilt" that he feels the first time in his life. Or they might be real and something happened to them.

I think the pigs/animals will kill all the people/cousins/family that Oswald loved as a revenge. Oswald is alone and has to put the puzzle pieces together on what is going on and how his life ended in tragedy in mexico etc. What i believe that you is maybe true. Other than that i am pretty sure that the ''kids'' are the part of Oswald's coma. What if he is actually in a coma and this all is just a dream that won't end until you have solved and found every child? What if these human pig mutants are just Oswald's normal guest as he walks around thinking he is alone making the other people see and thinking Oswald is insane. Maybe Oswald is just a old man who is pretty much alone, but hallucinating many friendly people.
Spoiler below!
Remember the church room? Nobody was playing the church piano. (forgot what they call it) And in Oswald's mansion nobody was playing his piano either. As soon as he was about to look on how it was playing by itself the whole house started to shake.
Other than that. Nobody know how Oswald is thinking or what is going on around him.
But soon we will find out who is behind all of this
Also.
Spoiler below!
The pig painted head contains Oswald's head as it pours out blood of it and a human eye is still seen inside of the wooden pig.
