I don't want to watch the videos, but what is the level set up like. Is it hubs with rooms connected like in the first Amnesia, or is it more linear, or more open ended?
The level shown looks huge. Much bigger than the first areas of The Dark Descent.
Yeah, actually thinking about the entire first level before the first loading screen, it's huge. So much room for exploration (Pewdiepie only scratched the tip of the iceberg), since there's notes, playable recording devices and flashbacks, a lot of which can be passed by. The level design is also rather ingenious, I feel it certainly surpasses parts of TDD in various aspects.
It f**king pissed me off when he just speedran the mansion area. Like he didnt give a f*** about the game, just wanted to finish it off quickly.
Edit: typo

A lantern fully fueled can last from 6 to 8 hours... this means that we don't have to refill the lantern every 2 minutes, (like in The Dark Descent), but we've got a "infinite" light. (N.B.: It's not really infinite, because the story takes place during an entire night, so 6 or 7 hours).

I would agree on that. I wouldn't mostly turn it on until i get to the darker areas.

I think "smarter" enemies are kind of a trade off when it comes to, no need to refill your lantern anymore.
Basically, sure you can keep it on but it makes these "smarter" enemies to hunt you down if you do that and many people thus turn the lantern off when they fear that monster might suddenly appear front of them.
I wonder how many times game will offer the lantern for the players before it its like "Take this damn lantern already!".

RE: Amnesia AMFP SPOILER THREAD *ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK*
There was a let's play where the guy missed the lantern and it spawned to a different area. It was probably response for the fact that some people got stuck in the original when they missed the lantern.
Plus how well lighted the areas are in the early game indicates that it is just meant anyway to get player used to that mechanic.

6 to 8 hours? Damn those ancient lanterns are better than modern flash lights
I wonder if the entire world as a whole makes sense geographically.
eg. in theory if you were to put all maps in TDD together, it wouldn't work because places would overlap, some level doors lead to the same area (like the water chase) and overall strange architectures (prison hallways with only a few cells),...

I think there's only 1 loading screen (not including the start screen) during the entire 30 minute playthrough. Pretty impressive ^^
And Kevin VanOrd noticed something really interesting about the pig mask during his preview
Huge potential spoiler I think
Pretty damn creepy if that's the case.
