RE: Disappointed with aamfp ( no custom stories)
I do not understand you. Do you want to get less and less with each new game? And to get more, back to the old games?
Ok, im off. I am very disappointed. New 5h Amnesia without CS. Cool. New industry trend.

RE: Disappointed with aamfp ( no custom stories)
It's the OLD game but with NEW features from the NEW one. Perhaps put like this it is clearer.

But which new features? Engine updates or just CS compatibility enhancements?

RE: Disappointed with aamfp ( no custom stories)
Amnesia: The Dark Descent Custom Story customization will be updated with A Machine For Pigs entities? Wow, that is great news!
I, too, believe it is better to update The Dark Descent instead of A Machine For Pigs because for one, it probably means less effort needs to be made (add items to custom story support for old game rather than implementing a brand new custom story support for the new game which may not be that much different graphics-wise). It also means that one can build custom stories that includes both elements from The Dark Descent and elements from A Machine For Pigs in the same custom story, rather than authors having to decide to design for either The Dark Descent or A Machine For Pigs. =)
I also do not think you should worry about players not owning The Dark Descent. If players want the best horror experience, I am sure they would first download and play The Dark Descent, and then play A Machine For Pigs. Now you have two amazing games to play before having to touch custom stories. I would not recommend anyone to only buy and play A Machine For Pigs and then jump straight into the world of custom stories without touching The Dark Descent's amazing storymode. Also, while A Machine For Pigs may not be a direct sequel to The Dark Descent, it sure contains references, so I very much recommend anyone to play the first game first! ^^

See the Good Side
Hi guys, people say like "I am dissapointed, there is no custom stories in AAMFP."
My opinion is, please stop this. Let's see the good side:
Some games had endings which made the players curious. So players were excited about that game's sequel. They were counting down the days until its release.
But when I finished Amnesia (main story), I started to play Custom Stories. Then I experienced about the game, picking up the key, seeing the grunt/brute, hide, run, hide, run. People made Custom Stories until the AAMFP release, so players didn't feel that "empty feeling" about Amnesia. Now when I'm going to play AAMFP, I know the game mechanics. Hide and run, and now I am hoping that developers made a game which is more harder than ATDD.
Example, when I finished Overture, I was like "Oh my god! I want to play more! What was that ending?" so I waited Black Plague.
I hope I made a point of my feelings.

RE: Disappointed with aamfp ( no custom stories)
100 percent of Amnesia:TDD was the actual game for me. Not the cheap scares some other people play on le youtube channels.
Dear lord. Not another one of these threads.
You can still keep playing the custom stories you watch on youtube on A:TDD sooooo point? Not like the engine is that big of a jump from A:TDD.

Can you not read? TDD will have an update that allows you to use AAMFP assets. AAMFP's engine has had functionality stripped such as the sanity system, inventory as well as use of tinderboxes and oil. Why would you want to use the engine that has less funtionality? Updating TDD makes perfect sense. And as for complaining about it being 5 hours, the game is like $15.. that's a perfectly acceptable game length for that amount of money, not to mention long horror games end up outstaying their welcome.

The dark descent custom stories will have Amfp elements added so people who said that there will be no custom stories it's either because they didn't do their research, or they don't have TDD

RE: See the Good Side
We will see tomorrow.
I watched an other review and they gave a 5/10 score. I know that such scores are also just someone's personal opinion and I mean hey, FG are absolutely specialists of gamedesign and Thomas wouldn't release a bad game. So we actually can't say anything about the quality without playing the game.
