RE: Disappointed with aamfp ( no custom stories)

With all do respect, I haven't played a single custom story so far. Maybe I will in the future, who knows...
Plus, they might add more stories themselves like they did with TDD by adding Justine - and it was free.

If you feel that developers are ripping you off, wait some time and buy the game from sale or don't buy it at all. Best way as a customer to show that you don't want this kind of product is not to buy it.

FG are the last ones who will rip people off.

Good to see that the gaming fanbases are still the number one practitioners of entitlement. Dear lord.

Wow, what a poor accusation. I, for one, loved ATDD and it's entirety. No custom story could possibly emulate it's genuine fear factor. Yes, SOME custom stories are very well done, but you can't base how we're going to feel about AAMFP just because it's not compatible with CS.

Not all the elements. That not means there won't be CS in AAMFP and you can play with AAMFP walls, floors. This game won't contain Custom Story option and there will be new updates for HPLEditor. That is the situation.

I watched an other review and they gave a 5/10 score. I know that such scores are also just someone's personal opinion and I mean hey, FG are absolutely specialists of gamedesign and Thomas wouldn't release a bad game. So we actually can't say anything about the quality without playing the game.
But I know this game is going to be cool.

Ok, im off. I am very disappointed. New 5h Amnesia without CS. Cool. New industry trend.

Can you not read? TDD will have an update that allows you to use AAMFP assets. AAMFP's engine has had functionality stripped such as the sanity system, inventory as well as use of tinderboxes and oil. Why would you want to use the engine that has less funtionality?

So, why make a new game with so lot less fuktionality ? Most of the reviews mentioned this as a major flaw. This thread is not about tdd.

13€ for 5h game is in my country too much.

Cause it's a new chapter?

The inventory removal and such were removed for gameplay purposes, so it's more immersive. But who cares about that.

And you haven't played the game to know how long it is for yourself.

Reviewers HAVE to finish the game QUICKLY so they can write the review (I mean if they're professionals) so I wouldn't take a journalist's word on how long a game last because they're usually speeding through it.

I also wonder if they play videogames in the right conditions. Like, in the darkness with headphones, alone, for AMFP.

One would hope so.

But you can see how many variables they have working against a game when they're reviewed.

Think about it.

The games that are generally more subdued, less about action and more about a story or an atmospheric experience usually don't score as well as AAA action games.

Why?

AAA action games are easily digested by reviewers. Not much thinking. You can play through them pretty easily and on and on.

Another variable is that when you're PAID to review games you tend to enjoy them less. How do I know this? Think about this scenario:

You have to review a few games before a deadline. You have a AAA action title that you MUST submit because it's a big responsibility. You also have a huge indie rpg on your hands and you don't have the time to really get into it.

A journalist i used to speak with on some other forum (i forgot the guy's name) told me how he would have given x game a higher score after he spent more time with it and how he would give another game a lower score after he spent more time with it.

See why people need to analyze reviews correctly? The vast majority don't.
