Hello,

I'm a big fan of series (have all FG's), anyway, Im currently on Arch Linux, and I don't have Pulseaudio installed - I run just by ALSA.

The options section in game detects all of my ALSA devices correctly (and I choose ALSA - USB DAC as output). But when I reset the game, it always falls back to PulseAudio (setting doesn't persist)...and I have no sound.

What should I do now?

Also, if anyones wondering, Amnesia: TDD works fine. So do other games. I just cant get the new Amnesia to run properly.

Hm there should not be a difference to the Amnesia and pig game when it comes to the audio. Possibly that the libs/ are different so could try to use the one from Amnesia with pig and see if that helps.

Can also post the hpl.log from both games for comparison.

Which config file can I set default audio device in? The options settings ingame don't seem to persist.

in your home there should be a hidden .frictionalgames folder, in it is Amnesia/Pig and in main_settings.cfg you can change the device, I think the list in the launcher is correct so that the first entry = 0 and the second = 1 and so on.

Okay, the bug seems to be elsewhere.

I went thru all devices, and it accepts ALL, except the one I actually use. This is frustrating Sad

When I select my DAC as output device, it just ignores my setting and defaults to PulseAudio, which I don't even have installed.

I cannot use other devices for sound output, because my amplifier is connected to DAC and my whole Hi-Fi relies on that.

In old Amnesia (TDD) I can select my DAC in game settings and sound works fine. There is a bug with new one.

But please post the hpl.logs from both games, also take the main_settings.cfg from both games and post them here so we can at least compare them.

They are in home folder in the hidden .frictionalgames/Amnesia/ folder

The Pig one's launcher lets me select ALSA DAC, but when game lunches, it shows PulseAudio is in use.
If I set it to ALSA DAC in main_settings.cfg same thing. So there seems to be a bug with game, where it won't use saved option but will rather fallback to option 0 every time.
