Solved: 10 Years, 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago Sound not working

Sound worked the first time I loaded the game. This time, no sound, except for a noise as I selected "new game." Unfortunately I do not know whether my computer is 32 or 64 bit. It is a desktop, and I am in the process of uninstalling and reinstalling so I do not have an available HPL.log file.
