Would you pay for a MOD if that was possible?

I was wondering around today about myself and other modders around the world.
Some of us spend over like ... 500+ Hours in a mod we want to make.
And some of them have a gamplay about let's say between an average game 3-8 hours.
Would you be prepaired to BUY a mod even tho that is NOT possible offcourse during Policy \ law \ and copywrite etc..
-
I was just wondering.
For example Cry Of Fear, i would easely be prepaired to pay 10 bucks easy for that.
I know you could give those guys a DONATION.. but not a real "copy" of the game cause it is a modification.
-
I was just curious how people think about this.

And if that could give an EXTRS BOOST if it was extually possible.

can't say i would

if you're going to make people pay for it then it's pretty much just be another game that's riding off what another game made which is kinda shitty

Plenty of fantastic games have been created using existing engines. I do agree that a mod that uses all of the original assets and makes almost no adjustments whatsoever isn't deserving of being called its own game though.

Nope.

Would have to be a full conversion with a lot of tweaks...ie a game using an existing engine.

I don't fully agree here.
IF a game is so big and has such a big croud playing it, and is very good overall,
Who shouldn't those players been paying for EXTRA-{new} gameplay of the game itself.
A sort of expansion of what they like from that game?
For example what i said before.
HALF LIFE, one of the best "older"games. people still play them!
And there are several awesome mods for it:
1:Cry of Fear
2: Nightmare House 1 - 2

I think if people would geet a little more attention \ even tho if that is for cash or in overall comments.
Modders will make more \ better mods\expantions of Original games.

This treath is for ALL games, not specifcly for Amnesia, but yeah.
You are definatly right there,
it MUST be a fc for Amnesia.
I think because there are still the most proper configs to be changed \ added.

Pretty much this.

I have no problem with the fact that game uses same engine than the game the mod was started with, but I'm really not too keen on playing mods (even if free) that look and feel the same than the game the mod is made from (excluding few titles).

But in general, I would not pay for a mod that doesn't do radical changes by adding new assets to the game.

Generally speaking, unless your mod does all sorts of crazy stuff with the engine, even if it was possible to charge for a mod, doing so would likely cut your mod's potential audience down in more than half.
