How to modify dds files?

So I'd like to change a few entities texture. But everytime I try to save the modified I get this error:

Also it's worth mentioning that I'm not importing a new dds file, I'm basically trying to modify the one already in the amnesia files...
Anyone know a easier way to modify dds files, please let me know Smile

EDIT: Wat? I somehow fixed it.

From what I understand, it doesn't like the fact that the layers don't all have the size or it doesn't like multiple layers.

Take all of your layers and copy them and Merge them together into one layer, and try it again.

You don't have to merge all the layers to get them the same size. Just right-click each layer and pick "Layer to Image Size." Remember, the GIMP has two sizes: layer size and canvas size. Both of these are independent of each other. This can be seen with the yellow, layer boundary (View > Show Layer Boundary).

I think you tried to save a pow^2 texture as a cubemap

Personally, I use Paint.NET for my texture work in Amnesia... http://www.getpaint.net
Haven't had any troubles with it, it's pretty easy to use, free, and has some pretty decent features to work with. Bottom line though, it'll edit DDS files no problem.
