Its strange how you can produce more than a million cookies with a single click in this game, and still not have clicking be worth it.

Yeah, now I just click when on "frenzy mode" (cookie production x7 for 77 seconds, or x666 for 6 seconds).
I'm at a stage where each click produces 38,219,960 cookies. In order to buy my next upgrade from the Store I need... 9,000,000,000,000 cookies ;_;
I've only got half of that...

Is it really worth getting more than 100 of each item?
Now I have 100 Cursors and 100 Grandmas and random amounts of every other item excluding Antimatter condenser, which I'm still waiting to get.

You should get 100 of everything if you want to have a successful CPS, each item will give you a bit of strength with your CPS and when you're in the end game, achievements help and the stuff won't cost as much.

Only in order to unlock some upgrades and achievements I think.

Right now I have:

160 cursors
150 grandmas
140 farms
130 factories
120 mines
110 shipments
100 alchemy labs
90 portals
60 time machines
30 antimatter condensers

I always acquire them in batches of 10. XD

Well, I guess I'll get all of them to 100 for starters...
