Would throw daylight savings out of whack
Gives you an extra hour of sleep
11:00 on 11th November will be not as significant

Any direct time event will be affected. Perhaps even preventing or somewhat delaying assassinations of people like JFK or Lincoln (can only think of American Presidents Tongue )

RE: 1 more hour thought experiment

Am I being a retard here or does it not make sense at all to retroactively add an hour to EVERY DAY IN HISTORY? That is simply madness. We would still say JFK was assassinated on Friday, Nov 22, 1963 at 12:30 pm because that is when it happened. We're still using the same calendar, only adding an hour to every day after the system is adopted. Dates and times from before this +1 hour system wouldn't automatically lose their meaning - why should they?

To give you a somewhat related example from music, the standard pitch tuned to used to be completely different from what it is today (there wasn't even a universal standard). In Baroque times for example the pitch standard was A415 which is a half step lower than the universal standard of A440 we use today. That does not mean we are going to go full retard and transpose every single Baroque piece there is (there is an almost inexhaustible collection of them) down a half step because we now use a different system. When Bach played A415, he said he was playing an A, not A-flat. It's not a great example because it really makes no difference what A is tuned to, the music stays consistent with itself, however people would just need to realize that the day was 24 hours long back then and there would be no confusion.

It doesn't make sense. That's not the point of the experiment, though.

Well this system would completely fuck up our circadian rhythms for one, and it throws the day-and-night cycles off alignment so that we would have seasons of pitch-black days and completely light nights. There really is no justification for it whatsoever.

I kind of see it as the premise for one of those thought experiment novels, like Blindness (Saramago).
