could not load init before update, black screen after update

the entire penumbra series as well as the dark descent, just black screens when i try to load it up and then it "unexpectedly quits", we were promised a fix in 2013, and its still not working. when is the fix going to arrive? i have updated the dark descent and then tried the terminal trick. i have tried the terminal trick without updating and literally nothing is working. i bought tdd nearly a year ago now and it still doesn't work.
