That's the reason why I'm seriously holding back on voice acting, I'm very uncertain if it will fit the game at all, and I'm not ready to find out. Tongue

New screenshot, I think it looks a bit empty on the left side. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Smile

Wow! This is so awesome! I can say you could add something on the left side like some props or boxes. Do you make the light rays and walls by yourself?

Thanks Nikson, that's a good idea, I will look into it, I've recieved feedback from other places as well and the area is less barren now.

I also make all the graphics myself, including the light shafts and walls.

Very awesome! Maybe you could implement character emotions like if there is a unsettling event you could change the face so the character is more emotional instead of covering his face from what i can see in the picture. Again it's so awesome!

Initially I tried to add faces to the character sprites but given the size of them the face would not fit, let alone animate them in a way that looks good. The way that I compensate for this is to add full body animations to the characters, that is, everything you do will have an animation tied to it. The dialogues are also animated, no lip-syncing but body language.

That's good!
What sort of engine/language do you use?

I'm using AGS. Which uses it's own scripting language that is very akin to Java/C#-style languages. It's a very powerful tool that allows for a lot of customization though it lacks in compatibilty. The source is open so the community is working hard on adding features and compatibility to the engine, they just released the first full community release of the engine, v3.3.0 which Secluded is built upon.

RE: Secluded - Indie Thriller/Light Horror Game

I've decided to run a new playtest session in the near future. No set date yet but as soon as I'm done with the current segment in the game I will build a playable version of the game to test. Stay tuned for an announcement.

EDIT: Oh and sorry for double post.
