The earliest game I've played is Crystal version, so I couldn't say. Pidgeys have always been a favorite, though.

Also, my grandpa over there gave me some birthday money (A lot of it), and I bought a 3DS with it along with five games (Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Resident Evil Revelations, and Super Mario 3D Land). After two weeks with it I can safely say that the 3DS is one truly amazing piece of hardware.
Still probably best of all is that I was able to waggle my tongue with the English speaking skills I have that I haven't used properly for years
