Well this sucks. My computer has been crashing lately and I have no idea where the source is.

It started when I was playing Garry's Mod one day and I plugged my ear buds (not apple related) into the computer. When the game crashed, my computer crashed with it and showed no blue screen when it was supposed to. So I expected this was something wrong with the graphics card.

The crashing was more frequent when I would play my games, but now it can do it randomly on a webpage as well. When it crashes it would freeze for a second, and then cut output to the monitor.

Today when I got my new monitor I plugged in some spare speakers because the monitor did not come with any, and the computer crashed again. I then thought it was a sound glitch so I checked the sounds window uses and some of them showed a "!" sign inside a triangle. I set those sounds to none and thought it was fixed, but no; I was wrong.

Now when it crashes it chooses whether to go to the desktop on startup or not. I'm really scared for my computer right now. Whatever the problem is I hope it is not something on the hard drive (specifically something on system 32 or another important file.)

Right now I want to test to see if maybe Steam could be the possible problem, because most of the crashes happened when it was active. Other times the computer crashed when it was loading the desktop.

I have no idea what to look into to find the problem, I updated my graphics drivers, checked the sounds, and everything looks fine. What the hell do I do to save my computer?

yes i am well aware that those four different threads all have to do with very different topics under the blanket topic of "games", but yet if we try to start different topics about music that don't have a whole lot to do with each other other than loosely fitting under the blanket topic of "music" there's a ton of bitching from you guys saying that we should contain it in one thread and stop cluttering the forum with it, bc that's not incredibly hypocritical or anything amirite

Well, I always figured that Random Stuff was for anything and everything (except apparently harmless, adorable ponies), so it's fair play to mention whatever you want here.
