RE: Because you keep asking about it.
So I have a question: is blender better, Autodesk 3ds Max better or Autodesk maya.

Really depends on what you need it for and personally I think even "taste" comes into play. For general use I always take Blender because appearently I have a shitty taste in user interfaces and love to have eternal fights with broken python stuff. Then again 90% of the time I don´t do ingame stuff with it, but use it for environment and prop concept art or for a quick fluid/smoke sim for still images. If you are looking to do some high grade production work you might want to use Maya or Max.

What David says, Blender is fine for just lazy whatever work, but if you want to do actual high quality productions for films or games, you should be going with either Max/Modo or Maya.
Personaly I can't stand the sodding thing, the user interface makes me want to jump out my window.

Hahaha, absolutely not what I meant I follow your work on DA and I'm a big fan baby <3
But yeah, thing is you're using 3D as a base for your 2D work, not as the final product, which is kind of what I*m getting at.

Yeah don´t worry, didn´t took it as an insult ^^. Though I also forward 3D sketches for props over to artists nowadays. Speeds up the process especially for more intricate stuff that might take time if you have to draw up some projections first. Also you can do some minor production work if really needed. Sure ain´t a charm, but better than nothing.

Yeah I remember from Soma, I worked of some of your 3D models, were some nice looking renders too, you do that with CYCLES?

RE: Because you keep asking about it.
Yup. Cycles is nice for being freeware. Latest few updates beefed it up quite significantly. Still a few rabbit holes in it though.
